Yolanda Garcia

spanish language teacher

Yolanda was born and raised in Madrid, Spain, where she studied Pedagogy and Film. As a teenager she taught reading and theater in Public Libraries in Madrid. Yolanda has been a teacher and educator in South Florida for the past 22 years, teaching Creative Dance and Spanish. In 2011, Yolanda returned to school and graduated from Palm Beach State College with an Associates Degree in Early Education, receiving her certification as a Primary Montessori Teacher with the American Montessori Society. Yolanda has been an Early Childhood teacher for the past 10 years.

In addition to teaching, Yolanda organized “Earth Dance Lake Worth”, a peace festival, which raised proceeds to donate to a local school in 2011 and 2012. Yolanda has also presented dance workshops at The Norton Museum, Old School Square and Centro Cultural Español in Miami.

During her journey as an educator, Waldorf Education has always been a part of her life; from Biodynamic Farming, bees, art or reading the work of Rudolph Steiner, Waldorf Education is always a return home to the heart. Yolanda and her daughter attended Parent and Child classes at Sea Star Waldorf Initiative before the school updated its name to today’s Waldorf School of Palm Beach.

Yolanda is currently enrolled in the Explorations Program with the Center for Anthroposophy to deepen her Waldorf education journey.
