Gabrielle Malaniak

orchestra teacher

From Ms. Malaniak:

“I started playing viola when I was 12 years old in the public school system in South Carolina. At first, I absolutely hated it. It was a difficult instrument and the sound was not pretty. I began falling in love with the instrument because of the community I was in. It was so inspiring playing with others and my orchestra teacher became a big mentor in my life. Through the guidance of our teacher, a lot of students continued to study music up until college and a lot of my orchestra classmates still have an appreciation for classical music to this day.

I went on to study viola and violin at the Eastman School of Music for my undergrad. I have a deep passion for nurturing creativity and artistry in my students. I strongly support the arts and hope to inspire a similar appreciation in your child. I believe music is not just about technique, but about expression, imagination, and joy, and I look forward to sharing that with my students.”
